Graphic Design holds a major place in the visual communication industry such as printing, packaging, advertising and publishing. There is a major demand for talented designer with computer skills and printing knowledge.
The award is highly recognised world wide for employment purposes or for getting admission in institutions of higher education.
Course Strategy
Entry level The entry level for the course is O level.
Time table The course starts in October each year and takes 2 years of studies. Classes operate daily Monday to Friday, in the morning or in the afternoon.
Methodology Teaching aids include Macintosh computers, printers, scanners, equipment for pre-press, press and post-press, overhead and video projectors, library facilities and free access to the Internet.
Awards At the end of the course, BTEC/Edexcel awards their diploma.
Administration
Fee The total fee is Kshs. 270,000 or by 20 monthly instalments of Kshs. 13,500 each. Prepayment for a full year attracts a discount of 15%. The first payment is due at the registration of the course then before each monthly period thereafter.
An additional registration charge of £160 is due to BTEC UK.
Environment The Academy of Graphic Technologies boasts a friendly and conducive environment with parking facilities and a cafeteria. The training centre is conveniently situated in the Kul Graphics complex on Maasai road off Mombasa Road, adjacent to the East Gate of the Nairobi National Park.
Assistance For foreign and up-country participants, AGT assists at arrival, recommends accommodation and can arrange for insurance cover and medical care if required.
